Delillo Pastry Shop Introduce
When you talk about the soul of the Bronx, you cannot ignore the aromatic streets of the Belmont section, often referred to as the "Real Little Italy" of New York. In a city that is constantly evolving, there are few places that hold onto their heritage with as much grace and flavor as DeLillo Pastry Shop. For over one hundred years, this establishment has stood as a beacon for those who appreciate the finer points of traditional baking. It is a place where sugar, butter, and a deep sense of Bronx pride intersect to create an experience that is both nostalgic and consistently high-quality. Whether you are a lifelong New Yorker or someone exploring the northern boroughs for the first time, DeLillo offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you step inside.
DeLillo Pastry Shop is not just a business; it is a historical landmark of taste. Surviving a century in the competitive New York culinary landscape is no small feat. It requires a dedication to craft that is rarely seen in modern franchises. The shop serves as a community hub where the clinking of espresso cups and the sight of white pastry boxes tied with string are part of the daily rhythm. The ambiance is frequently described by regulars as warm and inviting, providing a perfect spot to sit down, decompress, and enjoy a slow moment amidst the hustle of the city. From its meticulously organized display cases to the rich scent of dark-roasted coffee, every element of the shop is designed to transport visitors to a world of artisanal excellence.

What is worth choosing
Navigating the glass cases at DeLillo can be a delightful challenge because of the sheer variety on display. However, several items have garnered a dedicated following. For those looking for a classic experience, the cappuccino is an essential order; it is often described as a "piece of heaven" and serves as the perfect companion to any sweet treat. If you are looking for a pastry that perfectly balances fruit and flaky crust, the apple turnover is a standout choice. Many regulars suggest asking to have it warmed up to fully appreciate the buttery layers of the dough.
For something a bit more indulgent, the tiramisu and tres leches served in individual cups are highly recommended for their moisture and authentic flavor profiles. If you are attending or hosting a party, their berry and cream cakes are legendary for being light, airy, and not overly sweet, making them a hit with diverse groups of guests. During the season of romance, their Valentine’s themed items are both "cute" and delicious, showcasing their ability to stay current while respecting their roots. Lastly, for those who appreciate the deep traditions of Italian baking, their assortment of danishes and dark-roasted coffee provides a "divine" experience that explains why this shop has been a Bronx staple for a hundred years. No visit to the Arthur Avenue area is complete without making this essential pilgrimage.

I love this bakery. Their cappuccinos are so fluffy, their pastries are never dry (ask to get them warmed up), ambiance is warm and inviting. They have icecream and an assortment of baked goods along with gifts. Aside from being a good place to sit down and decompress, they also are a great spot to get themed items like birthday cakes. Right now they have really cute valentine items. The apple turnover is really delicious I added a picture of it along with one of the pastry display cases and a berry and cream cake they made for my friends party. It wasn’t too sweet, the cake was light and airy. They also have really good tres leches and tiramisu in a cup.

De Lillo—Celebrating 100 Years of Sugar, Butter, and a Lot of Bronx Pride I never miss an opportunity to stop by De Lillo…where delectable delights drive me into a delirium driven by a desire for delicious danishes and divinely dark-roasted coffee. 🤓 You don’t survive a century in the Bronx without earning it, one pastry at a time. The cappuccino was a little piece of heaven, the desserts were just a tad sinful, and the whole experience felt like a visit to the Holy Chapel of buttercream and chocolate. If you find yourself anywhere near Arthur Ave., De Lillo is an essential pilgrimage. Highly recommend!

On New Years Eve, during the day, I visited Arthur Avenue, Bronx, NY to indulge in Italian food. The lobster tail pastry dough was crispy and golden brown. The filling was creamy, thick and satisfying. Vhuntermassage LLC

A really family friendly atmosphere. The cakes were really good but the chocolate one was a bit too sweet for me. The eclairs were perfect and the cream was the best part. Definitely coming here again. Our server was really nice and fast.

This place was pretty good. The service was the highlight. They did a great job interacting and answering questions. I especially liked the packaging they put your purchase in. However, for 7.50 the little cup of creme brulee I had was meh. The top was a little on the bitter side and the bottom wasn't even solid. Too runny for my taste. My son had their chocolate milkshake and said it was great though. Very nice display and store layout. Worth a stop though. Please give them a try they have a large selection as shown in the photos. Peace out.
