What is worth choosing
When visiting La Fe Bakery & Restaurant, the first thing any patron should gravitate toward is the selection of Mexican pastries, or "pan dulce." The bakery has built a formidable reputation for its conchas. These iconic sweet breads, topped with a distinctive seashell-like sugar crust, are a litmus test for any Mexican bakery, and La Fe passes with flying colors. They are consistently fresh, light, and provide the nostalgic taste that local residents crave. During the appropriate season, their Pan de Muerto is a must-buy; it is crafted with the respect and traditional flavor profiles required for such a significant cultural item, making it a favorite for local families during their celebrations.
Moving beyond the bakery shelves and into the restaurant side of the business, the Pozole Blanco stands out as a premier choice. This traditional soup, particularly the chicken version, is described by customers as incredible and deeply flavorful. It serves as the ultimate comfort food, especially during the cooler New York months. For those seeking a more substantial plate, the Bistec con Rajas is highly recommended. The combination of tender beef with the smoky, slightly spicy kick of poblano pepper strips (rajas) showcases the kitchen's ability to handle complex savory flavors just as expertly as they handle sweet doughs.
Ultimately, what makes La Fe Bakery & Restaurant worth choosing is the consistency of the experience. It is a place where the quality of the food is matched by the warmth of the service. In a city as fast-paced as New York, having a reliable "staple" where you know the bread will be fresh and the soup will be steaming is invaluable. Whether you are a long-time fan of Mexican cuisine or a newcomer looking to explore authentic flavors, this Woodside gem provides a culinary experience that is both grounded in tradition and executed with professional excellence. It is more than just a place to eat; it is a vital part of the local community fabric, offering a taste of Mexico right in the heart of Queens.

Authentic Mexican food and pastries—can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this place sooner! My first visit was to pick up pan de muerto and conchas, both fresh and absolutely delicious. Today (Sunday), my husband and I went back for lunch, and wow! I had the pozole blanco with chicken—it was incredible. My husband ordered the bistec con rajas, which was equally flavorful. Highly recommend!

How we get a seat always is a miracle, this is the a place that feels like home. The staff are hustling like crazy, and anyone complaining about service are out of their minds! Custom cakes, too many authentica dishes to even count, frescas, tamales and pazole Blanco on the weekend that might work better then penicillin? Get the heck out of here, this place is the miracle of woodside. No cap!

Overall, they always have great food in the weekends and have daily specials! Food never disappoints but sometimes servers can come off as rude, especially during their rush times

The tres leches cake here is amazing! It comes with fruit and can be custom made for any order. They are friendly and quick. Pre order because they can get pretty busy. Hidden Gem, cash only spot.
