What is worth choosing
When you step into Rico Pan Bakery, the sheer number of options might make it difficult to decide, but there are a few standout items that have become legendary among the local New York community. First and foremost, the buñuelos are a non-negotiable choice. These traditional cheese balls are highly recommended for their masterful execution; they manage to achieve a delicate balance with a slightly crunchy exterior that gives way to a soft, moist middle. Many regulars consider them the gold standard for buñuelos in the entire city. Because they are so popular, they are often warm and freshly made regardless of what time you arrive.
Beyond the buñuelos, it is highly recommended to explore the wide variety of other breads and pastries. Local patrons often leave with bags filled with 7 or 8 different items, ranging from savory cheese breads to sweet, flaky pastries. The bakery captures the essence of what Colombians "live for," so choosing any of the traditional Colombian breads—such as pandebono or almojábanas—is a safe and delicious bet. For those looking to have a sit-down breakfast, the authentic atmosphere makes any of their morning offerings a great choice. Given the affordable pricing and the high quality of the food, Rico Pan Bakery is a place where you can afford to be adventurous and try something new with every visit. If you are in Queens and looking for a true "taste of home" or simply the best Colombian baked goods in NYC, this Woodside Avenue gem is absolutely worth a stop.

Great little Colombian bakery. Buñuelos were my favorite: slightly crunchy exterior and soft, moist middle. Seems like they do a lot of business, so product turns over quickly and everything is super fresh. Spent around $23 on 7-8 breads and pastries. We will definitely come back next time we’re in Queens.

Absolutely amazing bakery! It’s family owned and everyone inside is always so kind. To order you do have to speak Spanish but even without you can always get by. The owners make everything by hand and the food is absolutely delicious. Ever since being introduced to this bakery I dream about it. The Tres Leches is so soft and airy while also being entirely filling; no other bakery has ever been on par with them. The prices are outstanding compared to any other food place with most of the foods being under 10$ for a very reasonable portion size. I will forever dream of the food here. Truly the cream of the crop!

Been going here since the 90s and the quality has never let up. Absolutely the best Colombian baked goods and snacks like empanadas, chorizo and chicharron. It helps to go with someone that speaks Spanish and is familiar with Colombian food but absolutely not required. Worth going out of your way even if you aren't in Queens.

I love going to different Colombian bakeries! I’ve only gone here to pickup something but never got to eat until yesterday. I decided to get my go to’s: Beef empanada, chorizo with potato and a Jugo de lulo. Even though jts summer I still got an Avena homemade and warmed up in the micro. Tasted so good and my mother got beef empanadas, arepa de choclo with cheese and coffee. I loved the food. Wasn’t dry, over cooked or undercooked! Next time I will def. try their bread! Colombian bakeries have the best bread well in my opinion!
