What is worth choosing
When visiting La Pasticceria, there are several items that have earned a reputation for being must-try delicacies among local food critics and regular customers. The undisputed star of the breakfast menu is the Pistachio Croissant. This pastry is frequently highlighted for its exceptional execution; the exterior is flaky and golden, while the interior is filled with a generous amount of pistachio cream. Local reviewers often note that the cream is super creamy, fragrant, and notably not overly sweet, providing a rich nuttiness that "oozes out" with every bite. It is a perfect example of how a simple pastry can be elevated through high-quality fillings.
For those looking for something slightly lighter or more refreshing, the fruit cakes and tarts are highly recommended. These desserts are praised for their balance, utilizing the natural sweetness and acidity of fresh fruit to complement the delicate pastry base. Many patrons have expressed a particular fondness for the pistachio-themed cakes, which offer a more structured and layered way to enjoy the flavor profile that the shop has mastered. The "Mignon" selection is also worth choosing if you are sharing with a group or simply cannot decide on one single item; these small pastries allow you to taste your way through different regions of Italy in one sitting.
Ultimately, La Pasticceria succeeds because it respects the tradition of the Italian dessert without making it feel inaccessible. The flavors are sophisticated and well-defined, catering to a New York palate that appreciates depth and quality over artificial sweetness. Whether you are grabbing a quick pistachio croissant to enjoy in Madison Square Park or selecting an elegant fruit cake for a special occasion, you are receiving a product crafted with care and authentic Italian passion. For anyone in the New York region looking for a reliable and high-quality pastry shop, this 5th Avenue gem remains a top-tier choice.

While we were wandering around Eataly Flatiron, we also picked up a pistachio croissant from La Pasticceria di Eataly — and wow, it was really good. The pistachio cream inside is super creamy, fragrant, and not overly sweet. It basically oozes out when you bite into it. If you’re a pistachio fan, this one is highly recommended. Totally worth grabbing one.

They dressers are great and very flavored but without being too sweet. I loved the pistachio and fruit cake.

After my wife’s cataract surgery nearby, we walked over to fifth and entered Eataly on Fifth. Inside on the ground floor, we stopped at this pastry/coffee shop to have a egg white and avocado sandwich and a cup of decaf americano. Both were very good. There is plenty of quality seating so we stayed for an hour enjoying the busy beautiful space.

Unacceptable! This person not only has a terrible attitude when serving customers, she was extremely rude when she served my coffee, spilling it all over the table. I had ordered a different type of coffee, and she made a mistake, so she got mad. I mean is not my fault…On top of that, she treated everyone poorly.

It's a beautiful restaurant inside Eataly on 5th Ave and Broadway. The price is high but the food is great. Perfect 🍳 😃. Customer service and environment are excellent. Clean and enough seating.
