Miracali Bakery Introduce
In the vibrant heart of Jackson Heights, Queens, where the rhythmic rattle of the elevated 7 train provides the soundtrack to daily life, Miracali Bakery stands as a seasoned guardian of Colombian culinary traditions. For decades, this establishment on Roosevelt Avenue has served as a reliable sanctuary for the neighborhood’s diverse residents and commuters alike. Stepping into Miracali feels like stepping back in time; the bakery maintains an old-school New York charm that has largely remained unchanged for nearly twenty years. It is a "no-frills" destination where the focus is placed squarely on the authenticity of the recipes and the comforting aroma of fresh dough that hits you the moment you cross the threshold.
Miracali Bakery is specifically celebrated for its deep roots in the Valle del Cauca region of Colombia. While the interior might feel "frozen in time" with its classic high counters and mirrored walls, the quality of its traditional bakes continues to draw a loyal following. It is the kind of neighborhood staple where the morning rush consists of locals grabbing a quick coffee and a warm bun before heading to the subway. Despite the rapid changes in the surrounding retail landscape, Miracali remains a constant, offering a slice of Cali, Colombia, right in the middle of one of the most multicultural zip codes in the United States.
Location and Accessibility
Miracali Bakery is perfectly positioned for the quintessential New York experience at 76-04 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11372, USA. While the mailing address often lists Flushing, any local will tell you this is the prime commercial corridor of Jackson Heights. This location is a commuter’s dream, situated just a short walk from the 74th St-Broadway/Roosevelt Ave transit hub. This massive junction connects the 7, E, F, M, and R subway lines, making the bakery an effortless stop for anyone traveling between Manhattan and Eastern Queens.
For those navigating the neighborhood on foot, the bakery is nestled among a dense stretch of shops and street vendors that characterize Roosevelt Avenue. It is easily accessible for residents of both Jackson Heights and Elmhurst. While street parking in this area is notoriously difficult and usually limited to metered spots on side streets, the proximity to public transportation is unparalleled. Whether you are stepping off the 7 train or catching one of the many local bus routes that traverse Broadway, Miracali Bakery is situated in a high-traffic pedestrian zone that makes it a natural stop during a day of errands or a morning commute.

What is worth choosing
If you are visiting Miracali Bakery for the first time, the "absolute must" is the chicken empanada. These are widely regarded as some of the best in Jackson Heights, featuring a perfectly crispy exterior and a well-seasoned filling. The experience is truly completed by adding their signature green sauce, which provides a bright, spicy kick that elevates the savory chicken. For those looking for a traditional Colombian breakfast, the pandebono (cheese bread) and pan de yuca are standout choices. When fresh from the oven, these breads have a delightful chewiness and a rich, salty flavor that pairs perfectly with a cup of their highly-praised coffee.
Beyond the quick snacks, the restaurant side of Miracali offers substantial meals that are worth choosing for a hearty lunch. The Carne Encebollada (steak with onions) and the various rice and bean plates provide a home-cooked feel that is both satisfying and affordable. For a sweet finish or a light snack, don’t overlook their traditional pastries and "skin-on taters," which have been a favorite for those looking for "dollar dining" options along the avenue for years. While the service can be described as straightforward and efficient, the real draw remains the food itself—a consistent, flavorful journey to Colombia available right on the street corners of Queens. Just remember to bring some cash for smaller purchases, as there is often an extra fee for card transactions, a common practice among the long-standing authentic gems of the neighborhood.
Would you like me to find the current daily lunch specials or the best times to visit for the freshest pandebono?

I was walking down Roosevelt looking for a place to have breakfast and came across this bakery. When you walk in, you’ll find a good variety of products. The place looks like it’s been around for about 20 years and feels frozen in time. The counter is quite high, which makes it hard to even see the staff’s faces when they serve you. The service is fine, but the staff felt a bit apathetic. What I really don’t agree with is being charged extra for paying with a card. That should be factored into the pricing of the products instead of passing the cost onto the customer. A spot with good variety, but it could improve a lot in service and overall presentation.

One of the best Colombian Bakeries in Queens, they have all the essentials, for starters great coffee, their empanadas are top notch and their pan de yuka is the best I ever had, it's worth the trip. Not to mention that Mira Cali has been in this same location for the last 40+ years, and their quality is always consistent.

The food is tasty, though not always fresh. The most disappointing part is the service: all the ladies working there are rude and make you not want to come back. We’ve given it several chances, but we always leave upset because of the poor customer service.

Large selection of bread and other Colombian things. There is also space to seat and eat. The service is good and quick.
