When it comes to the vibrant culinary tapestry of the New York region, specifically within the diverse neighborhoods of Queens, Pecoshitas stands out as a premier destination for those seeking authentic South American flavors. Located on the bustling Roosevelt Avenue, this bakery has become a beloved staple for locals and visitors alike who crave the comforting taste of traditional Colombian baked goods. The energy inside Pecoshitas is palpable, often mirroring the fast-paced spirit of the city itself, yet it manages to maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere that keeps customers returning week after week. It is more than just a place to grab a quick snack; it is a community hub where the aroma of fresh-baked bread and freshly ground coffee creates a sensory experience that is uniquely New York.
The success of Pecoshitas is built on a foundation of quality and tradition. In a city where options are endless, this bakery has earned its reputation by focusing on the fundamentals: fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and exceptional service. Whether it is the middle of the afternoon or the peak of the evening rush, the bakery is known for its high volume and the efficiency with which it serves its loyal patron base. Location and Accessibility
Pecoshitas is perfectly situated at 80-03 Roosevelt Avenue, Ground Floor, Flushing, NY 11372, USA. This prime location on Roosevelt Avenue puts it in one of the most accessible and culturally rich corridors in all of New York City. For those traveling by public transportation, the bakery is incredibly convenient, located just steps away from major subway lines and bus routes that serve the Queens area. This makes it an ideal stop for commuters heading home after a long day or for those starting their morning with a fresh cup of coffee. The "Ground Floor" positioning ensures that the shop is easily accessible for everyone, including those with strollers or mobility aids.
The surrounding area is a hive of activity, reflecting the multicultural heart of the city. While the address technically falls within the Flushing/Jackson Heights border region, it serves a wide demographic of New Yorkers. Despite the high-traffic nature of Roosevelt Avenue, Pecoshitas offers a surprisingly spacious interior. Unlike many narrow city bakeshops, it features a large seating area where customers can take a moment to relax and enjoy their purchases. Additionally, the inclusion of a clean, well-maintained bathroom is a highly appreciated feature for those who are out and about in the city, making it a comfortable destination for a longer break rather than just a quick grab-and-go transaction.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Pecoshitas, the absolute "must-try" items are the Pan de Queso and Pan de Bono. These traditional cheese breads are the backbone of the bakery’s reputation. Because the bakery is so busy, these items are frequently replenished, meaning you have a high chance of catching them just as they leave the oven. The Pan de Bono, in particular, is prized for its perfect balance of a slightly crunchy exterior and a soft, chewy, cheesy interior. These are often purchased in large quantities, as they are just as good for a quick snack as they are for a family breakfast the next morning.
Beyond the bread, the coffee program at Pecoshitas is a standout feature that sets it apart from typical neighborhood bakeries. The iced coffee is frequently described as "exquisite," offering a bold and refreshing flavor that pairs perfectly with their sweet desserts. Because the staff grinds the beans right in front of you, the freshness of the brew is undeniable. If you have a sweet tooth, exploring their authentic dessert selection is highly recommended. Whether you are coming in for a weekly ritual or discovering it for the first time while in the area, choosing a combination of a hot Pan de Bono and a freshly ground coffee is the quintessential Pecoshitas experience. This bakery proves that in the heart of New York, tradition and quality are the ultimate ingredients for success.
In summary, Pecoshitas offers a slice of Colombian heritage that perfectly fits the New York lifestyle. With its strategic location on Roosevelt Avenue, its commitment to freshness, and its welcoming, efficient service, it remains a top-tier choice for anyone in the region. Whether you are there for the piping hot bread, the artisan coffee, or the clean and spacious seating, you are guaranteed an experience that is both factual in its quality and friendly in its delivery.

The arepa con queso with my cafecito was so good! Service was quick, efficient, and the worker that took my order even let me practice my Spanish :). There are plenty of seats inside as well! I got both of these for $3.75. Can’t beat that!
