Panaderia & Pizzeria Coatzingo Introduce
In the heart of one of New York City’s most culturally diverse neighborhoods lies a culinary staple that serves as a beacon for those seeking traditional flavors and early morning comforts. Panaderia & Pizzeria Coatzingo, situated in the vibrant community of Jackson Heights, Queens, offers a unique blend of traditional Mexican baking and local convenience. For residents of New York, finding a spot that captures the essence of authentic international flavors while maintaining the fast-paced energy of the city is a true find. This establishment has become a recognizable fixture on Roosevelt Avenue, catering to a wide demographic ranging from early-morning commuters to families looking for a sweet treat after a long day.
The atmosphere of Panaderia & Pizzeria Coatzingo is one that reflects the industrious spirit of New York. As many locals know, the city truly never sleeps, and neither do the ovens in some of our most beloved neighborhood bakeries. Stepping inside, visitors are often greeted by the heavy, sweet, and warm aroma of dough being prepared—a scent that defines the early hours of the morning in Jackson Heights. The establishment operates as both a bakery and a pizzeria, though it is notably recognized by the community for its extensive selection of Mexican breads and pastries. This dual-purpose nature allows it to serve the community across different meal times, providing everything from a quick breakfast pastry to a savory evening slice.
Location and Accessibility
Convenience is the currency of New York City, and Panaderia & Pizzeria Coatzingo is strategically positioned to be accessible to a vast number of commuters and local residents. Located at 76-17 Roosevelt Ave, Jackson Heights, NY 11372, the bakery sits directly on one of the busiest and most transit-rich corridors in the borough of Queens. Its location is a significant advantage for those utilizing the New York City Subway system, as it is just steps away from the major transit hub at 74th St-Broadway and Roosevelt Ave, which serves the 7, E, F, M, and R trains. This makes it an effortless stop for anyone traveling between Queens and Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Accessibility extends beyond just the subway. The Roosevelt Avenue area is a pedestrian-heavy zone with constant foot traffic, meaning the bakery is easily reached by those living within the immediate Jackson Heights area. For those traveling by bus, several local lines including the Q32, Q33, Q47, and Q49 stop within a few blocks of the storefront. While street parking in this section of Queens can be challenging—as is typical for New York—the high density of public transportation options ensures that the bakery remains a primary destination for the local population. The storefront is visible and welcoming, maintaining a presence that is easy to spot even amidst the vibrant chaos of Roosevelt Avenue.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Panaderia & Pizzeria Coatzingo, the true stars of the show are the traditional Mexican pastries. For those who may be new to a Mexican bakery, it is highly recommended to simply follow your eyes and pick whatever looks most appealing. The "conchas" (shell-shaped sweet bread) and various filled pastries are local favorites that pair perfectly with a morning coffee. Because many of the items are larger than typical pastries found in other neighborhoods, they are excellent for sharing or for a substantial breakfast on the go.
The early morning hours are particularly worth choosing for a visit. Entering the bakery before the city fully wakes up allows you to experience the "sweet warm aroma" of the first batches of the day. This is when the selection is at its peak and the bread is at its freshest. For those seeking value, the reasonable prices allow for a variety of choices without a significant financial commitment. However, as with any local establishment, it is always a professional recommendation to check the freshness of specialty items like refrigerated cakes before purchase to ensure they meet your specific expectations for quality and date. For the daily commuter looking for a reliable, smiling face and a warm piece of bread at 7:00 am, this Roosevelt Avenue spot remains a go-to choice in the heart of Jackson Heights.

Went there just before 7 am on Sunday. It’s probably the only thing open during this early hours. I was greeted with a smile from the staff and the sweet warm aroma as soon as I entered the bakery. I had no idea about the names of the pastries what I bought (see picture); I just picked whatever looked appealing and tempting. Can’t really go wrong with any choices here. Many items are bigger than expected with very reasonable prices. It was the first time I visited a Mexican bakery and I was very happy I did.

I bought a tres de leche cake for a birthday party and it was expired and expensive this is honestly upsetting we had no cake at all . It is not the first time that has happened before, it came to a point where the bread had a bad taste. I honestly thought this time would be different but it hasn’t change at all. Check before you start selling expired food .

Everything is so colorful and nice over there, staff is super nice and cakes are delicious. I ordered a piece of red velvet for 5 dollar, good price and amazing flavor!

Hey hey hey. You gotta check this spot out in the hot summer day that coconut popsicle hits perfectly. Also on a cold winter night the hot coffee with donuts is a match made in heaven=) the donuts here taste home style (the best) it'll make Dunkin donuts feel so fake next time you eat them. These donuts here are perfect for dipping into a hot coffee or hot tea. This is a local business that has earned it's quality reputation.

Great little spot on Roosevelt. They’ve got a cute selection of cupcakes for kids, cakes and pastries. Coffee is amazing! Thank you to Anane, who delivered excellent service! Not easy to run a local business these days, come show love and support, they deserve it here!
