What is worth choosing
If you find yourself standing before the vast counters of Pasticceria Rocco, the absolute "must-try" item is the cannoli. For many patrons, this is the gold standard by which all other cannolis are measured. Real customers have noted that even those who aren't typically fans of this dessert find Rocco’s version to be "amazing." It is frequently described as the closest taste to Italy that one can find in New York City, featuring a perfectly crisp shell and a filling that is balanced in sweetness and texture. The fact that they are filled with care ensures that the contrast between the crunch and the cream is preserved until the very first bite.
Another item that is worth choosing is the sfogliatella. This pastry is a masterpiece of texture; it consists of dozens of incredibly thin, crispy layers of dough that shatter upon entry, giving way to a dense, flavorful creamy center. It is an excellent choice for those who appreciate the technical difficulty of Italian baking. While some visitors have mentioned that the staff can be a bit reserved or "not especially warm," the consensus remains that the quality of the pastries is so exceptional that it more than makes up for the straightforward service style. Whether you go for the legendary cannoli, a slice of rich cheesecake, or the multifaceted sfogliatella, you are choosing a piece of New York culinary history that remains as delicious today as it was decades ago. For a complete experience, pair your selection with a strong Italian espresso to cut through the richness of the cream, and enjoy the timeless atmosphere of Bleecker Street.

I stopped by this Italian pasticceria and overall had a very good experience. The pastries were excellent and felt truly authentic. I had a sfogliatella, with its many crispy layers and creamy filling inside — absolutely delicious. The staff was a bit reserved and not especially warm, but the quality of the pastries clearly made up for it. It’s a lovely place to stop if you’re craving an authentic Italian pastry. Overall, a solid and enjoyable spot.

My wife is a stickler trying to find the best Cannoli. She went to Italy a long time ago and she can never forget the taste of a great cannoli. First time in NYC we both tried it and im not a fan of Cannolis but let me say that this was an amazing dessert. My wife said its the closest to Italy she has ever tried. Wonderful desserts! We loved it! Best Cannoli by far in NYC.

I was absolutely amazed by the number of pastry, cookie, and cake options available here. After a trip to Italy I have been trying to replicate my experience by going to every Pasticceria I can find. We got here right before they were closing and the waiter seated us right away and took great care of us. This seems like a very popular place in the neighborhood. I felt like the prices were very reasonable and the few treats we ordered were very tasty.

On point the cappuccino and chai were perfect, the pastries were so worth the subway ride even at 4 degrees outside. We were there on a Sunday and it was a little busy but still had a nice enclosed patio in the back to sit talk and warm up. Staff was polite and friendly. We had a wonderful time, try the Lobster Tail pastry.

Have been coming here for 30 years+. Happy with the desserts, but on my last visit realized the prices have been hiked dramatically in the last month or so. A biscotti that was $1.50 is now $2.50, too much for such a tiny piece. Other items were also significantly expensive. I’ll be coming less often, plenty of other good options in the village.
