Kerber's Farm Introduce
In the heart of Manhattan’s iconic Greenwich Village, where the fast-paced energy of the city usually dominates, there exists a unique portal to the rustic charm of the countryside. Kerber's Farm, located at 264 Bleecker Street, offers New Yorkers a rare "farm-to-city" experience that feels like a warm embrace. Originally established as a historic poultry farm in Huntington, Long Island, Kerber's Farm has successfully brought its storied heritage and artisanal craft to the West Village. For locals, it is not just a bakery; it is a meticulously curated farm store that stands out as a "cute, perfect little farm store in the middle of the city."
Walking into Kerber's Farm is an olfactory journey that immediately separates itself from the standard New York City bakery experience. Instead of just the smell of yeast and sugar, you are greeted with the comforting aromas of savory stews, buttery crusts, and freshly brewed coffee. The shop’s aesthetic leans heavily into its heritage, featuring wood accents and shelves stocked with artisanal goods that look like they were plucked straight from a Long Island pantry. It provides a sanctuary for those who appreciate the slower pace of farm life but require the convenience of a Manhattan location. Whether you are a long-time resident of the West Village or a visitor exploring the historic sights of Bleecker Street, this shop offers a factual slice of New York's agricultural history reimagined for a modern urban audience.
Location and Accessibility
The strategic placement of Kerber's Farm at 264 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10014, ensures it is accessible to a diverse cross-section of the city’s population. Bleecker Street is one of the most storied thoroughfares in the city, known for its mix of historic jazz clubs, high-end boutiques, and legendary eateries. Kerber's fits perfectly into this tapestry, providing a cozy corner that feels both exclusive and welcoming. For those navigating the city, the shop is a short walk from some of the most important transit hubs in Lower Manhattan.
Accessibility is a breeze for subway commuters. The shop is located just a few blocks from the Christopher St - Sheridan Sq station (1 train) and the West 4th St - Wash Sq station (A, C, E, B, D, F, and M trains). This proximity to major subway lines makes it an easy destination for those living in Brooklyn, Queens, or Uptown Manhattan who want to secure a high-quality lunch or a box of artisanal pastries. For local residents within the 10014 zip code, Kerber's Farm serves as a neighborhood "general store" of sorts, where they can pop in for a quick latte or a full meal on their way home. The storefront is street-level and easy to spot, often catching the eyes of pedestrians with its distinctive, nostalgic signage.
Services Offered
Kerber's Farm operates with a commitment to providing a multi-functional service model that goes beyond a typical "counter-service" bakery. Their offerings are designed to satisfy everyone from the morning caffeine seeker to the person looking for a hearty evening meal. Their primary services include:
- Bakery and Pastry Service: A rotating selection of fresh-baked sweet treats, including their famous cookies and pies.
- Savory Meal Program: Specializing in "full meal" pies and hearty entrees that are prepared to be served steaming hot.
- Artisanal Farm Store: A retail section offering signature jams, honeys, gift crates, and packaged goods inspired by the original Long Island farm.

Features / Highlights
What truly defines Kerber's Farm is the attention to detail and the specific "highlights" that customers frequently rave about. These features separate the shop from the crowded field of Manhattan bakeries:
- Authentic Farm Heritage: A direct connection to a real working farm in Huntington, NY, ensuring an authentic brand story and quality control.
- Signature Crunchy Pastry Dough: Their savory pies are noted for a distinct, crunch-heavy crust that holds up perfectly even when served steaming hot.
- Full-Meal Savory Options: Unlike many bakeries that only offer light snacks, Kerber's provides "full meal" portions like their renowned Shepherd's Pie.
- Cozy Interior Aesthetic: A "fabulous shop" atmosphere that offers a temporary mental escape to the countryside.
- Unique Product Range: From mini-pantry items to fresh lattes, the product mix is curated for high-quality, artisanal tastes.
- Consistency and Warmth: A reputation for serving food that is "amazing" and consistently prepared, ensuring repeat visits from local "regulars."

What is worth choosing
When visiting Kerber's Farm, the standout choice that consistently garners the most enthusiastic feedback is undoubtedly their savory selection. Specifically, the Shepherd’s Pie is a "must-try" item. Local patrons describe it as a "full meal" that arrives steaming hot, characterized by an amazing taste and a signature crunchy pastry dough on the outside. It is the type of comforting, hearty food that is perfect for a chilly New York afternoon or a satisfying lunch in the middle of a busy workday. If you are looking for something to drink, their lattes are considered "solid" and provide a perfect accompaniment to the rich flavors of their pies.
In addition to the savory pies, the artisanal goods on the shelves are well worth investigating, especially their jams and gift-ready items. However, a helpful tip for the budget-conscious local: while the food is widely considered "fabulous" and worth every penny, basic convenience items like bottled water can carry a premium price tag compared to a local bodega. To maximize the value of your visit, focus your spending on the "most delicious stuff"—the artisanal baked goods and prepared meals that you simply cannot find anywhere else in the city. Kerber's Farm is a place where you pay for the craft, the heritage, and the high-quality ingredients, making it a premier choice for anyone in the New York region seeking a rustic, high-end bakery experience.
In conclusion, Kerber's Farm on Bleecker Street is a shining example of how a historic brand can adapt to the modern Manhattan landscape without losing its soul. It offers a factual, high-quality, and delightful experience for those who value artisanal craftsmanship. If you find yourself in Greenwich Village, do not miss the opportunity to try their savory pies; as one customer famously put it, you’ll definitely "be back."

I had a latte and the savory shepherds pie. The pie was a full meal 🥘. And it tasted amazing. Steaming hot and crunchy pastry dough on the outside. I’ll BE BACK (Arnold voice)

What a cute perfect little farm store in the middle of the city! I loved absolutely everything about this except the cost of a mini bottle of poland spring: 3.54!?! Thats insane. This costs 1.15 at the bodega, I wiuld understand if it was 2.50 here but yall are charging the same price as most places charge for a mini san pellegrino! Please consider this No stars docked for this outrage because its still a fabulous fabulous shop with THE most delicious stuff

I meant to try a nearby coffee shop but when I saw this adorable storefront I was pulled. I thought I would get a pastry and chai but to my surprise they had breakfast. I ordered the bacon and egg bowl. Nice simple cooked fresh. Chai was amazing. Muffin quite nice as well. A definite place to try when in the area.

Pastries I got were overall 4ish⭐️ but I gave 5 total for the staff and the space. Great place to grab a light meal or stay for a break! 🥧Kerberry pie was delicious. Pretty traditional style and sweet. Crumbs one the top was a highlight. But the crust was a little bit soggy (since I went there in the late afternoon) so I definitely recommend to visit early. If you are visiting only for one item, I would say pies. Pumpkin scone was tasty, hitting my preference. But the middle part was slightly dry, and the texture was more like a biscuit in my opinion. Cappuccino was not that creamy but the taste was great!

I work & once lived in the West Village. When Kerber's Farm came to the neighborhood, it definitely has made a wonderful addition to the community. Their pies, doughnuts, breakfast items and many more that they offer are amazing and no one compares to what they do. The staff are not only efficient but welcoming and just all round great!!! I talk about them on my food tours and my guests have come away very impressed with Kerber's Farm. May they remain in the neighborhood for many years to come. Thank you, Kerber's Farm!
