What is worth choosing
When you step into White Swan Bakery, the sheer number of options can be overwhelming, but there are a few iconic items that have defined the experience for regulars over the years. First and foremost, the Char Siu Bao (barbecue pork bun) is a quintessential choice. Known for its soft, pillowy dough and a perfectly balanced sweet and savory pork filling, it is a flavor profile that many locals consider the "gold standard" of the neighborhood. It is the perfect savory snack that holds its quality throughout the day.
However, the real secret to the White Swan experience is pairing your pastry with a cup of their coffee. For those who typically rely on big-name chains, the Colombian coffee here will be a revelation. It is brewed strong and clean, providing a robust caffeine kick without any bitterness. Many patrons find that it pairs exceptionally well with their sweeter pastries or even a simple plain bun. If you are looking for a sweet treat, their custard buns and various fruit-filled pastries are highly recommended for their delicate texture and light sweetness. Whether you are a fan of traditional Chinese baking or simply a coffee aficionado looking for a better brew, White Swan Bakery offers a factual and delicious slice of New York life that is well worth the visit. The combination of a warm Char Siu Bao and a fresh cup of Colombian coffee while watching the morning life of East Broadway is an experience that many former residents miss dearly, and one that current New Yorkers should certainly treasure.

I miss this place so much. I used to go there everyday in the morning or afternoon. The coffee is outstanding, better than Starbucks, and maybe even better than Bustelo. I asked my ex gf if she thought maybe put artificial stuff to make it taste so good, but she spotted them brewing it and it said Colombian Coffee, my birth country. They have fresh Chinese pastries too, Charlie Siu Bao was my favorite back then. Miss living downtown.

Service is quick and friendly. There’s also seats available. I ordered the jasmine milk tea large size with boba for $3.50. Sugar is adjustable. They also have other toppings such as rainbow jelly, grass jelly, and white pearl. Additional toppings cost $0.50. Sell a variety of milk tea such as strawberry, taro, honeydew, etc flavor. There’s also slushy and coffee btw. Cash only.
