Angelina Bakery Nomad Introduce
In the energetic streets of the NoMad (North of Madison Square Park) district, a unique culinary hybrid is making waves among New York’s food enthusiasts. Angelina Bakery Nomad, situated on West 28th Street, represents a sophisticated evolution of the traditional Italian pasticceria. Founded by Antonio "Tony" Park, a baker of Korean descent who was raised in Palermo, Italy, the bakery is a heartfelt tribute to the two women who shaped his life: his grandmother, Giuliana, and his daughter, Angelina. This dual heritage is the secret behind the bakery's innovative approach, combining the soul of Sicilian baking with a meticulous, Asian-inspired focus on lighter textures and balanced sweetness. Since its arrival in the neighborhood, it has quickly become a go-to sanctuary for those seeking a premium espresso and a pastry that feels indulgent without the heavy sugar crash typical of many American sweets.
The NoMad location is designed to be as much an experience as it is a shop. Featuring a bright, contemporary interior with high ceilings and an inviting atmosphere, it serves as a "transparent laboratory" where guests can often witness the artisanal production process firsthand. The aesthetic is clean and upscale, yet it retains a neighborhood warmth that encourages locals to linger over a pistachio-filled treat. Whether you are a creative professional working in one of the nearby design studios or a visitor exploring the historic flower district, Angelina Bakery offers a refined slice of Italy redefined for the modern New Yorker. Its reputation for freshness is bolstered by the high volume of daily visitors, ensuring that the glass displays are constantly replenished with warm, fragrant bakes throughout the morning and afternoon.

What is worth choosing
If you are a first-time visitor to Angelina Bakery Nomad, the absolute priority should be the Pistachio Rolly Croissant. This iconic item has gained a massive local following for a reason; the croissant dough is impeccably flaky, and the center is generously filled with a thick, decadent pistachio cream that manages to be flavorful without being overly sweet. To complete the experience, many regulars pair this with a double shot of espresso, as the bitterness of the coffee provides a perfect counterpoint to the nutty richness of the pastry.
For those who prefer a more traditional Italian treat, the Pistachio Bombolone is another standout. Tony Park’s version of this Italian donut is legendary because it uses an updated recipe that is significantly lighter than the traditional heavy version. The dough is pillowy and soft, dusted with fine sugar, and filled with a vibrant pistachio paste. If you are looking for something savory, do not overlook the Focaccia Sandwiches. The Prosciutto and Fresh Mozzarella on artisanal focaccia is a favorite among the lunch crowd, featuring high-quality Italian meats and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. For something truly unique, the "Brissant" (brioche-croissant hybrid) offers a textural experience you won't find at a standard bakery—perfectly buttery yet surprisingly airy. Whether you are grabbing a box of mini bomboloni to share at the office or sitting down for a quiet afternoon treat, sticking to the pistachio-infused specialties is the surest way to understand why Angelina Bakery is considered one of the best spots for Italian desserts in the Big Apple.

Everything was absolutely delicious. We tried the pistachio rolly, pistachio bomboloni, and a couple of other sandwiches (don’t remember the names) — everything was super fresh and amazing. Really enjoyed it, definitely coming back.

The delicacies were AMAZING! The almond croissant was so much better than expected. The Biscoff filling was not overwhelmingly sweet. The staff were ready to help and were polite with swift service. The seating area was clean and had different types of seating and tables. The bathrooms were also very clean.

Came here twice while staying at a hotel close by. Great bakery with a lot of choices! We were with a group so had a good sampling of their menu. The standout was the bombolones! Delicious. Coffee was nice and strong and service was very friendly. The place looked very clean too.

Absolutely delicious cafe in the flower district. They have so much to choose from! I got the mini pistachio cannoli with a regular milk cappuccino. That cannoli was small but mighty! What a treat! Really delicious. I had my cappuccino to go but I am looking forward to going back and trying some other sweat treats they have to offer.
