Croissant Bakery

104-01 Roosevelt Ave, Corona, NY 11368, USA

3.0
I’ll be honest—I fell in love with Colombian food ever since I dated a Colombian woman in college. It wasn’t her that stole my heart, but the cuisine! The place itself is nice, with outdoor seating being a nice touch. However, there’s no air conditioning and it’s summer, which is a downside, especially since this is my third visit in two weeks. The buñuelos are disappointingly small, to the point where you don’t feel like buying one because it’s just not enough. On the positive side, the service is great, and the restaurant is beautiful. P.S. The name of the coffee shop is in English, suggesting that the owner might be a Colombian woman married to an American. At first glance, the name doesn’t seem very Colombian, so you don’t realize it’s a Colombian place until you walk in. - Waldemar Alamo

What is worth choosing

When visiting Croissant Bakery, the primary draw is the authentic Colombian flavor profile that permeates the entire menu. For those who have a passion for South American cuisine, the traditional breads and pastries are the cornerstone of the experience. Even though the shop shares a name with a famous French pastry, it is the Colombian staples that truly define the spirit of this establishment. Regulars often find themselves returning multiple times a week to satisfy cravings for authentic tastes that are hard to find outside of specific neighborhood pockets in New York.

The buñuelos are a noteworthy mention for anyone looking to sample the bakery's offerings. While some local feedback suggests they are served in smaller, snack-sized portions, they offer a concentrated burst of traditional flavor that pairs excellently with a morning coffee. If you are looking for a light bite to eat while sitting in the outdoor area, these are a quintessential choice. The combination of the crispy exterior and the soft, cheesy interior provides a sensory experience that is very specific to Colombian baking traditions. It is a snack that represents the heart of the bakery's identity.

Furthermore, the experience of dining in is worth choosing if you have the time to sit and soak in the atmosphere. The "beautiful" interior mentioned by visitors suggests that the owner has put significant effort into creating a space that feels like more than just a quick-stop shop. It is a place for a long lunch or a relaxed afternoon break. For those who value the social aspect of dining, the great service and the aesthetic appeal of the restaurant make it a standout choice on Roosevelt Avenue. Despite the summer warmth, the opportunity to sit in a well-designed space and enjoy a culture-rich meal is a highlight of the local Corona food scene.

Finally, for those who prefer the convenience of home, the bakery's presence on delivery apps is a significant plus, though locals often recommend visiting in person to ensure the best communication and to see the daily selection firsthand. Navigating the menu in person allows you to see the fresh items as they come out and interact with the staff who are dedicated to maintaining their Colombian culinary roots. Whether you are there for the coffee, the bread, or a full Colombian meal, Croissant Bakery offers a slice of South America right in the heart of Queens.
