El Cafecito de Mama Introduce
In the vibrant heart of Corona, Queens, the local culinary landscape is defined by its authenticity and the warm, welcoming spirit of small businesses that serve as the backbone of the community. Among these hidden gems is El Cafecito de Mama, a local establishment that has quickly become a go-to destination for New Yorkers seeking high-quality breakfast staples and artisanal bakery items. Located in the 11368 zip code, this spot offers a professional yet homey atmosphere that captures the essence of a traditional neighborhood cafe. For those of us living in the five boroughs, finding a reliable place for a morning pick-me-up or a mid-day snack is essential, and El Cafecito de Mama delivers with a focus on freshness and value that resonates with the hardworking residents of the New York region.
Operating in one of the most diverse and energetic neighborhoods in the world, El Cafecito de Mama prides itself on a menu that balances classic American breakfast favorites with the specialized touches of a local bakery. For New Yorkers, the "morning ritual" is sacred, and this establishment honors that by ensuring every item—from the flaky layers of their pastries to the savory components of their sandwiches—is prepared with care. The tone here is friendly and professional, catering to the early-morning commuter heading to the 7 train as well as the local family looking for a delicious weekend treat. In a city where options are endless, El Cafecito de Mama stands out by maintaining high standards for flavor and presentation while keeping prices accessible for the local community.
Location and Accessibility
El Cafecito de Mama is conveniently situated at 40-12 104th St, Corona, NY 11368, USA. This location is a prime spot in North Queens, positioned just off the bustling corridors of Roosevelt Avenue and Junction Boulevard. For local residents, the cafe is exceptionally walkable, nestled among the residential and commercial mix that makes Corona so unique. Its proximity to 104th Street makes it a natural stop for those running daily errands or navigating the neighborhood's many shops and services.
For those traveling from other parts of the city or commuting into Manhattan, accessibility is one of the cafe's greatest strengths. It is located just a short distance from the 103rd St - Corona Plaza station on the 7 subway line, making it incredibly easy for commuters to grab a fresh breakfast on their way to the platform. Additionally, several local bus lines, including the Q23 and Q58, serve the immediate area, providing convenient connections to Flushing, Jackson Heights, and beyond. While street parking in Corona follows the typical New York pattern of being high-demand, the high turnover of the neighborhood means that those driving can often find a spot within a few blocks, especially during the early morning hours. Its central location ensures that whether you are a 11368 local or just passing through, El Cafecito de Mama is a convenient and rewarding destination.

What is Worth Choosing
When you visit El Cafecito de Mama, there are several items that have earned the seal of approval from local New Yorkers who know their breakfast. The croissants are the undisputed stars of the bakery case; they are described as "excellent" and are a must-try for anyone who appreciates the delicate art of lamination. Pairing a fresh croissant with a hot coffee provides a classic, high-quality start to the day that rivals more expensive specialty bakeries in Manhattan.
However, the real standout for many regulars is the savory menu. The bacon, egg, and cheese is frequently lauded as "pretty good," but it is the sausage, egg, and cheese that many consider a top-tier choice for the price. In a city where the "BEC" is a cultural icon, El Cafecito de Mama manages to provide a version that feels substantial, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. It is worth noting that while the food is "muy rica" (very delicious), the establishment maintains strict policies regarding their facilities, so it is best approached as a "grab-and-go" destination where you can pick up a high-quality meal to enjoy at home, at work, or on the train. Choosing El Cafecito de Mama means choosing local quality and supporting a small business that puts flavor and freshness first. Whether you are there for the flaky croissants or a hearty breakfast sandwich, you are sure to see why this spot has become a local favorite in Corona.

I just came back from them this morning, and their croissants were excellent. Also a pretty good Bacon egg and cheese! Staff were friendly. Update: Their sausage egg and cheese is one of the best I've eaten for the price point!

Seriously, do you have to pay to get served something like this, with fritters that taste like they were deep-fried in meat oil? Immediately after seeing what I bought, I called to speak to the "manager," and instead of apologizing, she was rude and arrogant. If you're looking for a pleasant and worthwhile place to eat, please LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE and don't waste your money.
