HK Bakery Introduce
In the heart of the vibrant Flushing neighborhood, HK Bakery stands as a dedicated destination for those seeking the comforting, nostalgic flavors of a traditional Cantonese-style bakery and restaurant. Located on Northern Boulevard, this establishment captures the essence of Hong Kong’s culinary culture, blending the speed of a quick-service cafe with the heart of a neighborhood staple. For New York locals navigating the bustling streets of Queens, finding a spot that offers a genuine taste of the East is essential, and HK Bakery serves as a reliable anchor for the community.
The atmosphere at HK Bakery is distinctly functional and fast-paced, reflecting the energetic lifestyle of New York City. While many cafes in the area lean into the modern aesthetic, this spot remains grounded in the classic bakery-cafe hybrid model that has defined the Cantonese dining experience for decades. It is a place where the scent of freshly baked buns greets you at the door, and the sound of quick orders being filled creates a rhythmic, productive ambiance. Whether you are a lifelong resident of Flushing or a visitor exploring the culinary diversity of the 11354 zip code, the bakery offers an unpretentious look at local Chinese food culture.
Location and Accessibility
Situated at 134-32 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11354, HK Bakery occupies a prime position in one of the city's most dynamic commercial corridors. The accessibility of the location is a significant draw for local commuters and residents alike. Being on Northern Boulevard means the bakery is easily reachable via several major transit routes. For those utilizing public transportation, numerous bus lines service the immediate area, and the bakery is within a reasonable distance from the Main Street subway station, the hub of the 7 train and various Long Island Rail Road connections.
For those traveling by car, navigating Flushing can often be a challenge. However, HK Bakery benefits from having some paid parking available right outside the establishment. This makes it a convenient stop for those who need to quickly pull over, grab a box of pastries or a hot meal, and continue their journey. It is important to note that the interior space is designed primarily for efficiency. With limited seating available inside, the establishment is tailored toward the "grab-and-go" lifestyle. It is a favorite for the morning rush or for locals picking up dinner on their way home, emphasizing its role as a high-volume takeout hub rather than a leisurely lounge space.

What is worth choosing
When visiting HK Bakery, the star of the show is undoubtedly the selection of traditional Cantonese pastries. These items represent the core of the business and are what local New Yorkers return for time and time again. The pineapple buns (bolo bao) and cocktail buns are staples that offer the perfect balance of sweetness and soft texture. For those who prefer savory options, the roast pork buns (char siu bao) provide a classic taste of Hong Kong street food right here in Queens. These items are perfect for a quick breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack alongside a hot milk tea.
While the restaurant side of the menu offers a variety of hot dishes like soup macaroni and traditional noodle bowls, the bakery items remain the most consistent and popular choice for the local clientele. If you are looking for a quick, authentic, and budget-friendly meal, choosing a variety of their fresh-baked buns is the best way to experience what HK Bakery does best. The quick service ensures that even during peak hours, you can secure your favorite treats without a long delay. For the best experience, locals recommend arriving earlier in the day when the full variety of baked goods is available and fresh from the oven.
In conclusion, HK Bakery serves as a vital piece of the Flushing culinary landscape. While it prioritizes function and speed over luxury, its commitment to traditional Cantonese flavors and its convenient location on Northern Blvd make it a go-to spot for the neighborhood. Whether you are stopping in for the wonderful staff experience or a quick box of pastries to share, it remains a quintessential New York Chinese bakery experience.

Cantonese style bakery and restaurant. Limited seatings and is mainly for take out. I think the food are really mediocre and even below average. The soup macaroni was the worst I ever had. The price is just alright. Service was great and pretty quick. No bathroom. Some paid parking available outside.

I came here right when they open at 6:15 AM, and there were already people waiting to get in to buy their breakfast! It’s affordable and delicious, reminded my days when I used to live in Hong Kong. I got salty minced meat doughnut, egg tart, porridge and honey lemon drink, all for less than $12, I’ll be back! CASH ONLY!

First off I wanna say this place is a "DIAMOND IN THE "MUFF"ins, breakfast sandwiches hot soups as well as their "SPOT ON" perculator hot coffee, rich and delicious. No coffee pots nor instant anything. JUST FRESH FOOD!! While I was there just to retrieve a hot coffee for $1.50 the owner was just placing ready made hot piping buns and breakfast buns with ham and cheese. So in the pictures if the shelves look sparse that is because I was there earlier about 550AM to be exact well before their internet posted time. Prices are very reasonable, better than being raped by Dunkin donuts or Starbucks if that is your thing. Parking is metered and ample. And the restaurant has 2 entrances a front door on Northern Parkway Service Road and a back door on 36th, 2 tables with chairs to eat, not really an establishment to dine in. This shop should have been called "Uh HA", I told you so🫵🤣 instead of just " HA." Ha Bakery is south of 25A or Northern Blvd. So go check them out and tell them the Guru* sent you👍 The Review Guru Long Island NY

I’ll recommend there meals compared to their bread, pastries, etc. Overall their meal box is cheap and have a lot of options. I didn’t want to have rice so I only bought the beef balls. Wondering how they did it but it was chewy! And tasty definitely. I had their chicken the other day, it was delicious too. But for the durian cake, I like to taste, of course the special smell, the whipped cream was too stiff. The texture was heavy and sticky. Would like to try other stuff next time..! In addition, people r friendly even during the busy time.
