MiraCali III Introduce
In the heart of Elmhurst, Queens—a neighborhood renowned for its incredible culinary diversity—MiraCali III stands as a vibrant beacon of Colombian heritage and Latin American comfort. For New Yorkers seeking the authentic "Sabor de Cali," this bakery and eatery provides a sensory journey to the Valle del Cauca without leaving the borough. Located directly across from the Elmhurst Hospital Center, MiraCali III has become a vital neighborhood fixture, serving as a reliable pitstop for healthcare workers, local residents, and commuters who crave the unmistakable aroma of fresh-baked pan de bono and the sizzle of a traditional griddle. In a city where speed often trumps soul, this "MiraCali" location maintains a commitment to traditional recipes and homestyle cooking that makes every guest feel like a member of the family.
The story of MiraCali is one of immigrant ambition and culinary pride, rooted in the traditions of 1980s Colombia. The "III" in its name signifies its success as a growing local chain that has expanded across the New York region due to its unwavering quality. This specific Elmhurst branch captures the essence of a traditional "panaderia y restaurante," offering a hybrid experience that shifts seamlessly from a morning bakery to a midday lunch spot. Whether you are grabbing a quick "cafecito" or settling in for a hearty "almuerzo," the atmosphere is welcoming, professional, and deeply reflective of the warm Colombian spirit that defines the brand. For local users, it represents more than just a place to eat; it is a pocket of cultural continuity in the ever-changing landscape of New York City.
Location and Accessibility
MiraCali III is conveniently situated at 80-28 Baxter Ave, Elmhurst, NY 11373, USA. Its location is perhaps its greatest logistical asset, sitting directly opposite Elmhurst Hospital. This makes it a primary destination for hospital staff, patients' families, and anyone navigating the busy medical corridor of Baxter Avenue. The bakery serves as a crucial "relief valve" for the neighborhood, providing high-quality, freshly cooked food in an area where quick, nutritious options are highly valued.
Accessibility is straightforward for those utilizing New York’s public transit system. The shop is just a short walk from the 82nd Street-Jackson Heights station (7 train) and the Elmhurst Avenue station (M and R trains), making it an easy detour for commuters traveling between Queens and Manhattan. While street parking on Baxter Avenue can be competitive, as is common in this part of Queens, the rapid "grab-and-go" nature of the bakery service accommodates those making quick stops. The interior, though intimate, is thoughtfully arranged with high tables and chairs, providing a comfortable space for a "short bite" or a quick coffee break in between the bustle of city life.

What is Worth Choosing
When visiting MiraCali III, the absolute "must-try" is their selection of traditional cheese breads. The pandebono and pan de yuka are standout items, consistently served warm with the perfect balance of salty cheese and chewy dough. These are the items that define the Colombian bakery experience and are perfect for a quick snack at any time of day. For a more substantial start to the morning, the "Desayuno Americano" or the "Desayuno #1" (Calentado with eggs and coffee) offer a high-energy, flavorful alternative to the standard New York bagel.
For lunch, the daily soup specials are highly worth choosing. These are prepared with "fresh ingredients and aromatic flavors," providing a comforting, home-cooked feel that is hard to find in commercial fast food. Pair your meal with a "Chicharrón de Guayaba"—a pastry that perfectly blends a crispy, flaky crust with the sweet tang of guava. It is worth noting for frequent visitors that the shop has recently updated some of its portion sizes, such as its beverage cups, but the flavor profile remains as authentic as ever. Whether you are stopping in for a quick "kid-sized" refreshment or a full Latin feast, MiraCali III delivers a genuine slice of Colombian culture to the heart of Queens. Its combination of fresh food, friendly service, and unbeatable location makes it a top-tier choice for anyone in the Elmhurst area.

Some freshly cooked Latin food. Very tasty, well cooked. Small restaurant, but they have some high chair and a high table for the customers. Very good for a short bite.

Nice workers but they have definitely changed. It's convenient because it's right across the hospital. They recently changed the sizes of the cups so the new small is even smaller. Its kid size.

My favorite Colombian bakery! The staff are so nice and the food is always fresh. Coffee isn't the best, but satisfies my caffeine fix just fine and the food makes up for it.

This review is for the Mira Cali that across the hospital ER. It’s a hit or miss. They serve some customers coffee freshly brewed , while other get coffee that’s a mix of freshly brewed and older coffee from the pot on top of the machine. They don’t rotate pots. It was a miss today. I could taste stale coffee.
