Red Gate Bakery aims to blend nostalgia and comfort (think “childhood baked-good memories”) with modern, creative twists. and it does very well 🫶🏻 i have tried many of their cinnamon buns. each flavor is rotating weekly with seasonal flavor once in a while. so far i have tried and loved— 🍞 strawberry matcha 🍞 vietnamese coffee 🍞 bacon, egg and cheese their cake slice is also great. my fav of all time is the triple corn cake 🌽 this is the bestest cake i have tried in my life 🫶🏻 the name “Red Gate” refers to a childhood summer home / farm on Nantucket — where the owner spent summers growing up and first fell in love with baking 🥖

Good bakery with unique offerings I came here to sample their chocolate chip cookie after coming several times without success. They seem to sell out pretty quickly. I ordered the choco toffee cookie (which I came for) and while I was in line I noticed the pickled PB & J bar. The choco toffee cookie is good but not mind blowing. It tastes very similar to a toll house cookie. It is thin and chewy in the center with a slight crisp on the edge. The salt sprinkled on top is nice. The chocolate seems to be semi sweet, I honestly wish it was more bitter sweet to set the cookie apart from others in the city. The cookie itself is a good size for the $4 price but compared to other popular cookies is a pretty light serving, but it’s also cheaper so that’s ok. I enjoyed the cookie but would not get it again unless I was ordering a variety box that included other things. The pickled PB and J stole the show. It is a super dense bar PACKED with peanuts and jelly with a dense “crust” that tastes and feels like a combination of every variation of baked good possible. Is it a pie? Is it a cookie? Is it a brownie? Who cares! It is amazing. It has an amazing toasted flavor from the nuts that resembles the flavor and scent of toasted bread. The jelly is not too sweet and packed with fruit flavor. The pickled part is mostly a scent, it’s a perfectly light touch that adds a layer of complexity to the bar. It is also incredibly dense so two people could easily share it, it is rich. Truly an exceptional baked good. The service was polite and relaxed. Everyone working seemed to be enjoying each others company while meeting the needs of guests. The space is tiny so you will have to take everything to go. Thankfully there is a park right outside the shop with benches to enjoy your purchases. Overall I would recommend trying their more unique offerings and skip the straight forward items.

Good baked goods! Not too sweet and not too polarizing. I wanted more corn things but they only had the corn Oreo ($2.5). I also got the bagel pastry (9.25) Both were quite good! sweeter than I preferred but no complaints, but the prices are very NYC

My friend waited an hour in line for these cookies and brought back some for me 🥹 Would I personally wait that long for these? No. But if there wasn’t a long line and I happened to be there, then I would come - Choco-toffee cookie: 11/10, really thin and chewy, and the toffee bits are delicious. One of the best in nyc - Bagel cookie: 2/10, lowkey traumatizing - Oreo cookie: 5/10, meh really sweet

Incredible baked goods! The miso apple crumble bar was SO rich buttery and perfectly salty. The salted caramel brownie was dense and fudgey, and the cookies are excellent as well
