Homemade food for cheap. They take EBT for their frozen selections which includes (Buns, Shumai, dumplings). Big bun has a quail egg, Chinese sausage, pork & veggies so damned good! Buns not too sweet, filling is more than enough and flavor, fresh hot and steamy when you buy it. $2.50. Chicken congee was $4 and every bit of good! Fresh, hot, chicken tender! And finally the pastries! $1-2 per. The sponge cake was not overly sweet. The other sweet I don’t know the name of but was also good. The only downside were the Shrimp rice crepes, the crepes were too thick, too gummy, flavor wise it was good but wouldn’t recommend. Everything here is fresh and delicious I always come here for something flavorful. Never disappointed. The place is clean and the staff is very nice and they tell you what’s in everything. Excellent customer service. - Lulu

For those navigating the busy streets of New York, Go Believe offers a sanctuary of homemade comfort food that feels like a hidden gem even in one of the city's most culinary-rich districts.

What is worth choosing when you visit Go Believe? If you are a newcomer to the bakery, the absolute must-order item is the "Big Bun." Priced at a modest $2.50, this steamed marvel is a meal in itself. Unlike many buns that are mostly dough, Go Believe packs theirs with a generous filling of pork, vegetables, savory Chinese sausage, and a whole quail egg. The dough is expertly crafted—soft, steamy, and not overly sweet—providing the perfect vessel for the rich, multi-textured interior. It is widely considered one of the best values in the neighborhood for a hot, satisfying snack or light lunch.

Another local favorite is the Chicken Congee. At just $4, it is a masterclass in comfort food. The porridge is served fresh and hot, featuring tender pieces of chicken that make it a perfect choice for a chilly New York morning or a soothing afternoon meal. For those with a sweet tooth, the sponge cake is highly recommended. It is prized for its light, airy texture and a controlled level of sweetness that allows the natural flavors of the cake to shine through without being cloying. Many customers also speak highly of the rice rolls, often listed as "crepes" on the menu. While the rice noodle layers are on the thicker, gummier side compared to some other styles, they are exceptionally well-filled with meat, making them a very filling option for $3.50. Lastly, do not overlook the frozen section; bringing home a bag of their handmade shumai or dumplings is a great way to keep your kitchen stocked with authentic Chinatown flavors for the week ahead.

When you visit, be prepared for a bit of a "chaotic" local experience. The shop is popular, and the ordering process usually involves inserting yourself into the line in a fast-paced, New York fashion. However, the wait is always minimal, and the reward is some of the freshest, most honest food you can find on Grand Street. Whether you are there for the legendary big buns or the simple joy of a fresh pastry, Go Believe delivers a consistently delicious experience that keeps locals coming back week after week.
