Goat Bakeshop Introduce
In the vibrant tapestry of New York City’s culinary scene, some of the most rewarding experiences are found in the specialized neighborhood spots that bring a piece of global tradition to Manhattan’s streets. Goat Bakeshop, located at 180 Mulberry Street, is a standout example of this, serving as a dedicated home for authentic Argentinian baking in the heart of SoHo. While New York is famous for its diverse bakeries, Goat Bakeshop carves out a unique niche by focusing on the rich, comforting flavors of the Southern Hemisphere. For locals and visitors alike, it offers an escape from the standard croissant-and-coffee routine, replacing it with the golden, flaky textures of medialunas and the savory depth of handcrafted empanadas.
The atmosphere at Goat Bakeshop is designed to be "very cute" and welcoming, reflecting the warmth often associated with traditional family-run bakeries in Buenos Aires. It is a place that prioritizes substance and flavor, earning high praise for its "generous portions" and "good value"—a combination that is increasingly cherished in the SoHo area. Whether you are a local resident stopping by for a morning pastry or a professional in the neighborhood looking for a substantial lunch, the bakeshop provides a professional yet friendly environment that makes every guest feel like a regular. The dedication to quality is evident in every bite, from the artisanal dough of their sandwiches to the sweet, creamy layers of their traditional desserts.
Location and Accessibility
Goat Bakeshop is perfectly situated at 180 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10012, USA. Nestled in one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods, the shop sits on a street famous for its history and its evolution into a hub of modern fashion and dining. Its location in SoHo, bordering Nolita and Little Italy, makes it incredibly accessible for those exploring the downtown area. For local New Yorkers navigating the city via public transit, the bakeshop is conveniently located near several major subway stations, including the Prince St (N, R, W lines), Spring St (6 line), and Broadway-Lafayette St (B, D, F, M lines) stations, all of which are within a few blocks.
The storefront on Mulberry Street captures the eclectic and charming energy of the neighborhood. While the shop is intimate, it is efficiently organized to serve the high volume of foot traffic that defines the area. Its proximity to local parks and trendy boutiques makes it an ideal "grab-and-go" spot for a weekend stroll or a quick mid-day break. Accessibility is enhanced by its reliable operating hours, generally opening in the morning to capture the breakfast crowd and remaining open through the early evening to serve those looking for a savory afternoon snack or a sweet treat to take home. The combination of a prime SoHo location and high-quality Argentinian fare has made it a favorite destination for the local community.

- Traditional Alfajores: These iconic sandwich cookies filled with dulce de leche and often rolled in coconut or dipped in chocolate are a staple dessert highlight.

What is Worth Choosing
If you are a first-time visitor to Goat Bakeshop, the absolute "must-try" item is the Argentine Milanesa Steak Sandwich. Often cited as a favorite by regulars, this sandwich features a perfectly breaded and fried beef steak that is tender and flavorful, balanced by fresh lettuce and tomato on a high-quality ciabatta roll. It is a hearty, "amazing" meal that represents the best of Argentinian comfort food. For those looking for a smaller savory bite, the Beef Argentina empanada is the gold standard, offering a rich filling of ground beef, caramelized onions, olives, and eggs that provides a true taste of Buenos Aires.
On the sweet side, you cannot leave without trying the Medialuna. These soft, buttery croissants are a hallmark of the shop; for an extra-indulgent experience, choose the version filled with dulce de leche. To complete your visit, an order of Alfajores is highly recommended. These delicate cookies melt in your mouth and offer the perfect balance of sweetness, making them a fantastic afternoon treat. Whether you are looking for a savory lunch or a specialty pastry to pair with your morning coffee, the consistent quality and "impeccable flavor" across the menu make Goat Bakeshop a standout choice in the New York bakery landscape. Super awesome lunch spot! Came in after seeing the meal deals they have, they’ve got some great options like the 2 or 3 empanada with a drink deals, I personally got the sandwich meal with the drink and fries. Super good price! I got the turkey blt and it was so delicious, and the fries were also super yummy! The man at the front who took my order and brought my food was extremely nice and welcoming! Very cozy inside, they have a good little seating arrangement and a TV playing random news or whatever is put on for entertainment. Great vibe! Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Definitely try this place for a good lunch!

I’m visited Goat Bakeshop today and it was amazing! The iced americano and ham and cheese medialuna were absolutely delicious:). The menu is quite extensive as well, so I can’t wait to try more things!

Firstly, their website online ordering portal doesn't let you order less than an hour and a half in advance. I called the shop and tried to order over the phone and the cashier was very short with me saying i need to order online, I said that it doesnt work. I asked to speak to the manager or someone who speaks english. He hung up on me. So I walked over and ordered a turkey BLT with tomato. The cafe was EMPTY. No need for a 1.5 hour wait. This is the sandwich I got. Cold and wet cibatta no bacon, no mayo, wilted lettuce and turkey that was still wet. Also, this looks like spit. I want a full refund for my entire order
